They Just Don’t Get It

Main stream media is pathetic, I hate to say. It is almost unbelievable that this is the same venue as Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Renaldo Rivera, Barbara Walters et. al. all used to bring real news to the people and raised public awareness in so doing. All of the aforementioned folks did so under some very dangerous situations. Beirut, Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq and the list is endless. These reporters knew what journalism is all about and put their personal safety last. I remember watching Renaldo in Afghanistan almost getting his head blown off on a report of the Taliban in the mountains of Afghanistan. He thought nothing of it and pressed on with his story. I also remember seeing a bunch of reporters at Zuccotti Park cowering before the NYPD and bailing out on the story before it even got started. That’s where the pathetic part comes in.

One picture says the movement is defeated and void of participation. The other, the real deal. Why is this? My suspicion is the bigger story in main stream medias eyes is the defeat of the movement. If correct it is a bald-faced lie and a very stupid attempt at accuracy. Does the media not know they are being watched as well? Do they think they a get free pass on bad reporting? Not a frekin chance. This movement transcends bias news easily, only a fool would think otherwise.

Need I remind the news media that the term “Scruffy Ruffians” had already been used in the 1700’s by British Generals when speaking of the Minute Men. What that got them is the “Scruffy Ruffians” kicked their snobby ass’s all the way back to England. We may look scruffy, we may even be ruffianistic at times, but within all occupiers runs the spirit of the Minute Men and the undying allegiance to freedom for all in this world.

The story, media, is in the #OWS movements desire to change the system of malaise in this country. The story is in the #OWS movements desire for greater wealth distribution among the people. The real story behind the movement is accountability of its elected political leaders. The days of public ignorance are over. The #OWS movement is making that so, why are you so afraid of this?

Wake up mainstream media. The bloggers do a better job of reporting then you because they answer to no one but themselves. Your parent companies control what it is you report and in what manner. They are the 1%. It is their combined goal in life to see the #OWS movement fail. They will use you as puppets to exercise the means. They will fail and so will you. We out here in America are not as stupid as you may be led to believe. We see through the transparency of bias news reporting. We see through your negativity and misleading by lines.

We cannot be fooled any longer. We will not be fooled any longer. We will not quit. We will not go away and die. We will prevail. We are the people’s voice, hear us.

We are the 99%. We are the fighters for freedom and democracy. We are the Republic. We march for freedom. We march for awareness of purpose. We march for change. Respect us, or, Expect us.

 

Slippery Slope

The dynamic is changing. The Occupy Wall Street movement has Mayors across the country moving into more violent confrontations each day. This past weekend has been no exception. In New York we have a mayor that thinks he is above the law of the land. His ego is inflated by thoughts of being the guardian of public safety and health. To the point where he thinks he can control the people, the press and his own city council with Gestapo like tactics from his police force. One other in history tried doing all that. The world still remembers. Only thing missing Mr. Mayor is your little mustache.

I am not surprised though because the dynamic of the movement is changing. I’m not sure if it is for the better or worse. The camps have overshadowed the movements voice and has become the focal point This is not good. We cannot effect change when the focus is on cleaning parks. The camps have become magnets that attract folks with other life agendas. The dilemma is the occupiers cannot turn them away. They to steal the spotlight away from the cause.

The above picture tells the story of the dynamic. In it we have a cowering protester, unarmed and obviously out gunned and a cop wielding a nightstick beating on the poor guy. The cop is obviously out of control. He is obviously not someone to be trusted with multiple weapons to harm unarmed citizenry, or is this by design? Only Mr. Bloomberg knows for sure.

What I do know for a fact is this cop and other cops like him are not representative of the nation’s police forces. He is a poster boy for steroid rage. In the 1930’s he would be wearing a brown shirt with a swastika. The boy would be a Jew. Get the message Bloomberg? Your cops are the very thing that epitomizes the hatred Jews throughout the world have in their hearts. They were beaten, they were arrested and then they were gassed. For a Jew, Mayor Bloomberg you show no respect for your culture when you allow this sort of thing to take place on your watch.

Confrontational diplomacy such as that which happened this weekend can only lead to one thing. An escalation of violence. Is that what the Mayors want? Are they so maniacal about pissing in the park that they want to see their cops turn into targets? This will happen. Not by the protesters either. There are many across this country that watch the freedom gauge. You would not want these people angry and they are beginning to get that way. They are the people who will never allow Hitleristic forms of government to ever take place again. Do we really want to see these people on our streets? I think not.

The methods being used for crowd control today are born out of urban terrorist training methods. Protesters are not urban terrorists. They are common people angered at an unbalanced system run by greed and corruption at all levels. You can not defeat them through overwhelming force. Such tactical force used on unarmed civilians will result in only one thing. An escalation of counter measures. Do the bullets need to start flying before America’s Mayors wake up and smell the coffee? Come out of your ivory towers mayors and speak to the people. You all claim to be on the side of the Occupy movements call for change yet you do not appear before them. Instead, you send in your enforcers to beat and hospitalize the very people who voted you into office. You spend the city’s tax revenue to counter law suits brought by the people and you lose. Over and over again. Would not the money be better spent fixing the damn pot holes on city streets?

We need to change our strategy occupiers before the bullets start flying and trust me when I say that scenario is already written in stone. We need to do what unthinking Mayors and police chiefs won’t. We need to take this thing of ours (John Gotti would be proud of me for using this saying) to Washington and let the thunder be heard. We need to do this or prepare for bloody streets. No one will win that battle and no sane person wants to see that battle take place.

OccupyWallStreet has started the march to DC. Along the way their supporters are joining in solidarity and assisting in many ways. It is heart warming to see. I wish I was able to be with them, unfortunately my government killed me years ago by exposing me to Agent Orange. I have 4 of the 5 killer diseases caused by dioxin poisoning. I have personal experience with stupidity in government obviously but it has not altered the love I have for my country and it’s people. That, I will still use all of my power and skills to protect.

We are the 99%. We will prevail and we will exact change. Fight us, you look bad to the world. Respect us and we change the world together. Ignore us? Expect us.

S968- Blacklist Bill or Protect IP Act 2011

This bill, which has been floundering around the halls of Congress since last May is on the Senate floor after being ripped apart and added to in the Judiciary committee. The original bill was intended to stop the commercial fraud artists on the net from doing business in the US. Mr. Leahy had good intentions to protect the consumers in the US unfortunately what came out of the Committee on the Judiciary was 3 times larger with a good deal of nonsense involved.

H.R. 3261 – Is the House bill of similar content as the Senate bill with the added caveat that legal proceedings get tossed out the window. It in its entirety, is something that will not get through the first vote.

How do I know this one may ask. Well the simple fact of the matter is the 1% are against it, and, the Senate version. Both bills are doomed because of excess. Not to mention the public outcry against both bills. Mr. Obama who is gung-ho for a free and open Internet would look like an idiot if he signed such a thing considering his recent speech on countries suppressing the Internet. But, he plays golf while the country burns down .. anything is possible with that guy.

It is obvious that the Internet folks are hand wringing over the whole thing judging from the amount of text floating around on the sea. I fail to see why the panic. But then again, I know things you don’t .. heh.

We see already the push back to a government request to Firefox to eliminate the MafiaAFire Re-Director. Firefox pretty much said “Stuff it” Go figure open source guys .. gotta love em. Any suppression of open source programming by anyone get’s these guys riled up. A riled up programmer is what we want. They tend to get quite creative when that happens. Something the government seriously overlooks.

The focus in both bills is in the controlling of name servers. Cute little servers that translate your http://www.mypage.com to it’s real IP. Pesky little devils if not nuclear hardened to ISP’s. The thing about DNS servers is they are easily fooled. Which makes the whole exercise in control of them uninspired. So you kill http://www.mypage.com, 10 minutes later http://www.mypage2.com comes to life or one of its many mirror sites, if your clever enough. I know of one site that has been shut down probably 300 times since I have been aware of it. Usually it is only down for the time it takes to re-propagate the dns servers.

Currently in the open-source world of things a new technology other than DNS is under development. It has a lot of promise and I expect a finalization of the technology scheme in the coming months. Neither bill can prevent this from happening as such a scheme is the next generation of server protocols for the Internet. That cannot be legislated as it would break many laws already in effect that promotes Internet growth and development.

The other big obstacle facing this trash to be put into law is in the policing duties. That is being thrown onto the ISP’s shoulders. That costs money. The 1% that own such things will not want the bottom line disrupted. Hence .. more lawsuits impending.

To sum all this mess up and try to alleviate the hand wringing going on, Pirate Bay will not be shuttered nor will Firefox fold under pressure. These things are not law .. yet. If they do become law the courts will have it tied up for quite sometime.

In the event this trash does becomes an implemented law rest assured, the underground of the Internet will counter it in some manner. The Internet will always be open and free, even to the morons selling phony shit to unsuspecting idiots. It is up to all of us to police the net from such websites. We don’t need a law to do it and we don’t need an ISP to interfere with our choices of where we want to go on the net either.

You get ripped off by a website selling phony crap or drugs (very big these days) then you didn’t learn your Internet lessons from us. Never buy anything you cannot touch and feel from an untrusted website. Do the homework on the site. If they ripping folks off, someone will have a blog about it. If all else fails .. we are on Twitter. Tell us. We don’t play with silly DNS servers.

Legend, Dynasty, Idiots

The firing of Penn State Head Football Coach Joe Paterno was predicted. The violence after it was not. A legend has left football in shame and disgust. Disgust at himself for not paying attention to what was going on in his own clubhouse and disgust at himself for not taking the proper actions when he did find out there was evil in his dynasty.

Unfortunately he’ll go down in history not as a great coach, but as someone who tried to ignore a serious crime and got caught at it. He will reside in the ranks of others that have gone before him that achieved greatness only to self-destruct. There is no excuse, there is no sympathy and there certainly is no jumping on this guys bandwagon of professed ignorance and pathetic handling of his staff.

If this was an isolated instance, perhaps one could find it in their hearts to forgive a momentary lapse of judgement. But this was not the case. The debauchery went on for years with many red flags flying. One needs to wonder where exactly his head was at.

Aside from the Paterno firing, I find the whole mess most troubling in other ways. In walks stupidity. In this case it took place by a few thousand students protesting the firing of the head coach. It turned violent with property damage and chaos on the city streets. Where were their heads at? Up their amoral ass’s that’s where. What were THEY thinking?

This all begs the question, what the hell happened in society that places stupid games ahead of felonious crimes against children? Are they frekin nuts? I can imagine one of the idiot protesters going home to his wife and when asked why his eyes were all red and tearing and his clothes were stinking of pepper. His answer “Out demonstrating to save the coach. She would reply, the one that didn’t report an 11-year-old being molested in the shower to the cops? He – yeah that one. She – Are you going to join the Jeffery Daimler freedom movement next dear?

This whole situation is pathetic from the top down. Penn State administrators, coaches and staff especially the campus police crew failed the university miserably. They did not protect its long standing reputation on the field and off, and, they did not live up to the moral standards of humanity. They should all be fired, not just the coach and president. The focus on football overshadowed all else of import to these people running the show and their idiot supporters. Does anyone think that any one of the boys violated by a university pedophile cares whether the Litany Lions even exist? Would you if the role was reversed? Think not.

Can we agree right off that life does not revolve around college or professional sports? Can we agree that there are far greater issues to deal with other than catching a pass or running for third base? Can we all agree that sports at the college and professional levels is nothing but greed and distances from reality?

A game of sport is truly meaningless in context to the rest of life. A noted university such as Penn State has lost it’s luster and heritage all in the name of a stupid game that no one will care about 5 years from now. Is football that important? Some would say yes because it brings in big bucks for the uni and makes it attractive to future students. I say to those folks, excuse me. you’re going to spend 40K in tuition at a university not for an education but for its football program? I would not be surprised at a “yes” answer.

Sports in my opinion have gone to far in the emphasis on importance. Our heroes are millionaire 1%-ers whose only contribution in life is to dunk a basketball or throw a pass. Congratulations humanity, this is truly the meaning of life and why we are here.

Remember, while you’re cheering for your favorite team this weekend, the world is burning. The issues of reality we face today are monumental challenges to our future existence, the very fabric of humanity is being ripped apart while we watch Monday Night Football. Who cares right? Did Dallas win? Pathetic I say. Pathetic in every way one can imagine. This we need to fix because on judgement day the conversation will go as follows “What has been your contribution in life to humanity? Ans. – Well I caught the winning touchdown that beat the Jets!. Right, your off to the other place now .. have a nice eternity. Catch my drift? .. sail on.

Cyber weaknesses should deter US from waging war

WASHINGTON (AP) — America’s critical computer networks are so vulnerable to attack that it should deter U.S. leaders from going to war with other nations, a former top U.S. cybersecurity official said Monday.

Richard Clarke, a top adviser to three presidents, joined a number of U.S. military and civilian experts in offering a dire assessment of America’s cybersecurity at a conference, saying the country simply can’t protect its critical networks.

Network hardening is not all that difficult. Armor plating servers from penetration is again, not all that difficult. The problem is in the commercial software the military uses. It’s not nuclear hardened software. It’s not even firecracker safe software. It’s commercial grade junk we all have been putting up with for many years. But that’s not the only issue facing the nations cyber systems. A breach can come from many sources. It can come from outside, as well as from the inside. It can also come from sources that are not readily apparent as Stuxnet proved that as well as the lunacy surrounding the recent “Drone” hack. The difference between the two hacks is Stuxnet was brilliant, the drone attack was stupid, as it was a common gamers hack.

I know of a “security group” that has been operating on the net for many years. Their network is impenetrable. Why? Because it is a ghost network. It exists, but yet cannot be found. Firewalls cannot stop it as it’s path through such barriers is hidden in server protocols that are considered noise and therefore ignored. I cannot go into greater technical detail for obvious reasons but I can say that after 9 years of operation this network has never been scanned or penetrated. It is not visible to the Internet, but it is part of the Internet.

The problem is, as I see it anyway from my advantage point of being an Internet dinosaur is one of attitude and experience level. When I looked into a typical IT operation run by the government (as part of my business) I immediately saw a glaring problem with the departments. All personnel were enthusiastic about their work and competent to a degree. Unfortunately their ego’s were bigger than their skill level and experience. When I would ask somewhat complex network orientated questions I often times received blank stares (nobody home syndrome) which I found troubling. Then I noticed something else .. no gray hair.

The Cyber command has unique issues in that personnel come and go constantly. This cannot help the experience level issue at all. Personnel, both military and civilian, need to stay on the job and not be shuttled around like cattle. Retention of military operators is as well an issue and needs to be augmented with senior civilian staff that does not change. As for the command staff, well hands on experience would be nice.

At any rate. I fail to see Mr. Clark’s concern. Intel knows where the enemies cyber centers are. They will be targeted on the first wave by cruise missiles. So will the telecommunications infrastructure. Retaliation of a cyber kind cannot be accomplished from a smoking hole in the ground. Mr. Clark knows this. Which begs the question, what is the motive behind this rhetoric? My guess .. more funding. Taxpayers are paying through the nose for so-called “Experts in security”, we are not getting our money’s worth obviously, Anonymous was kind enough to show us that and I for one am a bit upset over a network structure that is so easily penetrated. I want my money back.
