Guy Fawkes Night

04 Nov

Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day and Bonfire Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain. Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot’s failure. Don’t you Remember,
The Fifth of November,
‘Twas Gunpowder Treason Day,
I let off my gun,
And made’em all run.
And Stole all their Bonfire away. (1742)

"The most honest man to ever enter Parliment"

Festivities being planned I’m told. Hopefully gunpowder kegs are left at home. It will be interesting to see who turns into effigies tomorrow night. Hopefully it’s not the Pope .. his own Bishops refuse to shake his hand .. My pick will be Obama, the 1%’s puppet. He’s really disappointed those that thought he might bring about change and transparency. The puppet master quickly changed his tune though. The thunder that was quickly turned to a warm summer breeze .. pity, he had potential for greatness and unfortunately surrounded himself with losers. Sail on ..
